Madrid Mining Club is an organization with the target to promote the development of the mining sector as well as its business network.

Access to natural resources is key to the economic development of a country. Mining is in the base of the production chain, being the beginning of goods that we use daily and with a growing demand. We live in a developing world where every year millions of people join a global market needing limited resources with a high strategic value that represent a great economic opportunity.

Madrid Mining Club is born with the idea of being a qualified meeting point for actors of the sector where connect; investors, mining companies, utility companies, countries with mining interests and the academic world.

Founders

Raúl F. Abad

Founder

Raúl F. Abad is founder and Business Development Manager in RM Proyectos, company dedicated to the development of mining projects and trading of industrial minerals and metals. He has participated in mining projects in countries such as Chile, Peru, Iran, Norway and Spain. He is also the representative for Spain and Portugal of the iron ore division en Cargill ETM, a trading world leader of iron ore and steel products. Formed as economist, combines his professional vocation with his commitment to the development of new business initiatives as a member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs Associations.

José M. García

Founder

José M García (1981) is the Founder and CEO of Mining Sense, a mining company with operations in Peru. José is a mining professional with an international career across three continents, including Peru, Australia, Chile, Spain and Switzerland and employers such as Anglo-American, Buenaventura, Inmet-Mining, BHP-Billiton and the World Economic Forum. M.Sc. Mining Engineering, Madrid Polytechnic University, Spain (2005). Master of Philosophy in Mineral Economics, The University of Queensland, Australia (2011). Global Leadership Fellow, World Economic Forum, Switzerland (2014).

Félix D. Capell

Founder

Felix D. Capell (1983) is the Managing Director of BlueSwiss Capital, a boutique specialized in strategic advice and planning of investment projects. He is member of the Investment Committee of Civeta Investment and partner of the Business Lawyers Office, as well as member of the Board of Directors of Club Financiero Génova and the Board of iCmedia (Initiative for the Quality of the Media). Felix is European Financial Advisor (No. 10571-EFPA) and a Specialist in Private Banking and Financial Advice from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles. He holds a Ph.M. in Finance from ICADE and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at the Universidad de Sevilla and the Université Paris-Dauphine.
